The Iconic Stuart Park Skating Rink in Downtown Kelowna

Kelowna is a proud city and you’d be hard-pressed to find something Kelownans, Kelownites, K-towners (whatever you choose) are prouder of, than their iconic Stuart Park Skating Rink. Being voted the 2015 Greatest Public Place in Canada by CIP only reiterates how special this rink really is. The best part about Stuart Park is that free drop-ins go from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm daily! You won’t want to miss this winter staple as its only around for so long!

Skate Where the City and Forest Intertwine

Vancouver’s Sea Wall is truly a sight to behold. Looping around the famous Stanley Park is fun on foot, bike, or skates!  The 10km of trail is a perfect spot to bust out your inline/roller skates and glide down the bike path while taking in the gorgeous views.

Relive Sports History at the Whistler Olympic Village

The 2010 Vancouver Olympics was a watershed moment for sports in Canada. Whether it was Alexandre Bilodeau winning the first gold medal on home soil or Sidney Crosby scoring the golden goal, Canadians made history. During the games, the Whistler Olympic Village was home to many of the world’s best athletes. Nowadays, it is a tourists dreamland and has all the amenities to go along with it. Our recommendation would be to grab your favourite pair of skates (or some rentals) and relive some of that Olympic glory on the Ice rink at Whistler Olympic Village.

Rolla Skating Club, based out of the PNE Rollerland is the first new roller-skating venue in the Vancouver area to open in at least 40 years. It truly is a blast from the past as a DJ sets the mood for everyone’s favourite pastime: roller skating. Remember everyone, Skating isn’t only for the ice!

Skip the Slopes for a Picturesque Skating Dream

Apex Mountain is well known for its beautiful ski slopes. But what if we told you its best-kept secret had nothing to do with hitting the slopes? That’s right, there’s now a 1km skating loop that winds through the gorgeous snow-topped forests of Hedley. Grab your blades and head out to Apex Mountain for hidden journey through the forest.
